Privacy Policy
Effective 20 October 2026. Last updated 20 October 2026.
The short version
- The Mannaggia apps for Mac, iPhone and iPad have no account, no analytics, no ads and no tracking.
- Recordings of your family, reaction videos and everything else you make stay on your device unless you choose to share them.
- The only personal information we hold is the email address you give us if you join the waitlist on this website.
- This website uses analytics and the Meta Pixel to measure visits and our ads. The apps do not.
- We do not sell or rent your information.
Who we are
Mannaggia and mannaggia.app are made by MaCheFai LLC ("we", "us"). For any privacy question or request, write to [email protected].
This policy covers the Mannaggia app for Mac, the Mannaggia app for iPhone and iPad, and this website.
This website
The waitlist
If you join the waitlist, we collect your email address, the time you signed up and the page you signed up from. We use it for one thing: to tell you when Mannaggia is on sale.
Your email is stored with Cloudflare, which hosts this website, and with Bento, the email service we use to send that message. Each email we send has an unsubscribe link. You can also ask us to delete your address at any time by writing to [email protected], and we will remove it from both.
Analytics and advertising
This website uses PostHog and Microsoft Clarity to count visits and see which pages people read and Google Analytics, which set cookies in your browser. It also uses the Meta Pixel, which tells Meta (Facebook and Instagram) which pages you visited so we can measure our ads and show Mannaggia ads to people who have been here. Visitors in the EU, EEA, UK, Switzerland or Quebec (going by the location Cloudflare sees for their connection) are asked first, and the Meta Pixel and Google ad cookies only load if they accept. None of this runs inside the apps.
Fonts and hosting
The page loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google's servers and Google receives your IP address and browser details. Cloudflare, as our host, processes the technical details of every visit (such as IP address and browser) to deliver the page and protect it from abuse. These companies handle that information under their own privacy policies.
The Mannaggia apps
What we never collect
The apps have no sign in, and they contain no analytics, crash reporting, advertising or tracking code. They do not send us your usage, your settings, your recordings or anything you make.
The Mac app
- Taps and the lid. On a MacBook the app reads the motion sensor and the lid angle to know when to react. These readings are used on the spot and are never stored or sent anywhere.
- Microphone. Used only for Record your Nonno, when you start a recording. The recordings, the spoken consent, the name you enter and the family voice made from them are stored on your Mac.
- The voice model download. Record your Nonno needs a voice model, which the app downloads once from our server at models.mannaggia.app, only when you tap the download button. Like any web server it sees the technical details of the request, such as your IP address. Nothing about you or your recordings is sent with it. After that, the family voice is made entirely on your Mac.
- Other sensors. The app checks whether another app is using the camera or microphone, whether the lid is closed, how long since you last typed and the power state, so it stays quiet when it should. It never opens the camera, and none of this is stored or sent.
The iPhone and iPad app
- No internet connection of its own. The app makes no network requests to us. Purchases go through Apple (see below).
- Microphone. Used only for Record your Nonno. The recordings and consent stay on the device and, if you have iCloud Backup turned on, in your own private iCloud backup, which Apple holds for you, not us.
- Camera. Used only for Reaction cam, and only if you turn it on. The front camera films your face for a few seconds when the slipper flies. The video is made on the device, kept in a temporary folder, and stays there until you share it, save it or discard it.
- Photos. The app asks to add to your library only when you tap Save. It cannot see your existing photos.
- Motion. The app reads the motion sensor while it is open, to react to taps. Readings are not stored or sent.
- Widgets, Live Activity and notifications. These show the current relative, the patience meter and the last line. That information is kept on the device so the widgets can read it. Notifications are scheduled on the device; we run no notification server.
- Free tier counter. To keep the free allowance fair, the app stores a small counter of free reactions, throws and sends in the device Keychain. It holds no personal information and stays on the device, including after the app is deleted.
Purchases
Purchases in the iPhone and iPad app are handled by Apple. Apple tells the app what you have bought and the app checks that on the device. We do not receive your payment details or your Apple ID.
When you share
Some features make files you can send: a family voice bundle (to move a voice between your iPhone and your Mac), a ringtone, a clip or a reaction video. A file leaves your device only when you share it, and it goes where you choose to send it. A family voice bundle and a ringtone made from a family voice contain that person's voice; anyone who receives the file can keep it and play it, and a sent copy cannot be recalled. Please share them only with the agreement of the person whose voice it is.
Shared links to mannaggia.app may include a short tag such as "?ref=clip". It records which feature the link came from. It identifies no one.
Your family's voice and consent
Record your Nonno asks the person being recorded to say a consent sentence in their own voice, and stores it with their name and the date. You can delete a voice and its consent at any time with "Delete the voice and the consent". This removes the recordings, the consent and the family voice from the device. Copies you have already shared, and older device backups, are outside our reach.
Children
Mannaggia is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has joined the waitlist, write to us and we will delete the address.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Since the only personal information we hold is a waitlist email, this is quick: write to [email protected]. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
How long we keep it
We keep a waitlist email until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, or until we no longer need it to tell you about the launch. Everything in the apps stays on your devices for as long as you keep it there.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update it here and change the date at the top. If a change affects how we use your waitlist email, we will tell you by email before it takes effect.
